Together, we are transforming lives through collaboration.
Holistic Nurturing Health Hub (HNH Hub), in partnership with EACCN, Zuwi Afya CBO, Pamoja CBO, Universal Lighthouse, and BethanyKids Kenya successfully conducted a comprehensive medical camp at Ojolla Sub-County Hospital, bringing specialized healthcare services closer to children with disabilities and their families.
The camp provided an opportunity for children with neurodevelopmental conditions and other disabilities to access multidisciplinary services under one roof. Activities included:
* Comprehensive medical consultations and developmental assessments
* Occupational, speech and physiotherapy services
* Nutrition assessment and caregiver counselling
* Early identification and developmental screening
* Orthopaedic assessments and assistive technology evaluations
* Caregiver education on home-based therapy and child development
* Referrals for specialized care and follow-up services
A major highlight of the day was the provision of appropriate assistive devices, where children were assessed by specialists to ensure each device matched their individual functional needs. Devices distributed included wheelchairs, standing frames, walkers, supportive seating, and other mobility and positioning equipment, helping children improve independence, participation, comfort, and quality of life. The assessments were conducted to ensure every child received the right device that promotes function and prevents secondary deformities.
This medical camp served over 300 children, providing hope, dignity, and access to essential rehabilitation and healthcare services that many families would otherwise struggle to obtain.
We sincerely thank all our partners, healthcare professionals, volunteers, caregivers, and well-wishers whose dedication made this initiative a success. Together, we continue building an inclusive community where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
